Samsung has expanded its Odyssey G8 monitor lineup with three distinct models for 2026, each designed to cater to different user preferences and requirements. The series includes a 32-inch 6K IPS panel, a 27-inch 5K IPS panel, and a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel, offering varied resolutions, refresh rates, and features.
The 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS) marks Samsung’s first 6K resolution gaming monitor, delivering a sharp 6144 x 3456 pixel display with a native 165Hz refresh rate. Gamers can switch to Dual Mode for a boosted 330Hz refresh rate, though this reduces the resolution to 3K. The monitor supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync, and features a single HDMI 2.1 DisplayPort.
The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF) provides a 5K resolution display and a smooth 180Hz refresh rate, also supporting Dual Mode for a 360Hz refresh rate at QHD resolution. Like the larger model, it is compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro, and includes an HDMI 2.1 port.
The flagship Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) features a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with notable design refinements. It boasts a glare-free finish, a fast 240Hz refresh rate, and increased full-screen brightness of 300 nits. The monitor holds VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification, ensuring a peak HDR brightness of 500 nits at 2% Average Picture Level. In addition to HDMI DisplayPort 2.1 (supporting up to 80 Gbps bandwidth), it includes a USB-C port capable of 98W charging.
Samsung plans to showcase the Odyssey G8 Series along with other new models at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, taking place from January 6 to January 9. Full pricing details are expected to be announced during the event.
