Updated Sony PlayStation Pricing and Models in Nepal for 2025

The gaming landscape continues to evolve, and Nepal's gamers now have access to Sony's latest PlayStation consoles through authorized distributors. This guide covers the specifications, features, and current pricing for all available PlayStation models in the Nepalese market.

PlayStation 5 Pro

Announced in 2024, the PS5 Pro represents Sony's mid-cycle upgrade with significant graphical improvements. It delivers up to 45% higher performance in games compared to the original PS5, thanks to a custom 16.7 TFLOPS GPU, 67% more compute units, and 28% faster memory. The Pro supports native 4K gameplay, higher frame rates, 8K output, VRR, WiFi 7, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Storage has been upgraded to 2TB, and an exclusive AI upscaling technology called PSSR enhances visual quality. The console measures 15.2 x 3.5 x 8.5 inches (3.1kg) and does not include a disc drive, though one can be purchased separately. The official price in Nepal is NPR 135,000.

DualSense Wireless Controller

The DualSense controller, bundled with PS5 consoles, features improved haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone array. A “Create” button replaces the old “Share” button, and the controller now sports a two-tone design for better ergonomics. It weighs approximately 280 grams, making it heavier than the previous DualShock 4. The official price for the DualSense is NPR 20,000, though a grey market version is available for NPR 9,500.

PlayStation 5 Slim

The PS5 Slim is a more compact redesign of the original PS5, reduced by 30% in volume. The digital version weighs 2.6kg, and the disc version weighs 3.2kg. It retains the same CPU, GPU, and RAM as the original PS5 but upgrades storage from 825GB to 1TB. A key feature is the detachable Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive, allowing users to choose between digital-only and disc-compatible configurations. The Slim supports 4K/120fps gaming, 8K output, and HDR. Currently, the disc edition is priced at NPR 95,000 after a recent drop from NPR 110,000.

PlayStation 5 (Standard Edition)

The standard PS5 remains available in both disc and digital variants. The disc edition includes a 4K UHD Blu-Ray drive, while the digital edition does not. Both models feature an 8-core, 16-thread CPU, a 10.3 TFLOPS GPU, 16GB GDDR6 memory, and an 825GB custom SSD. They support 4K/120fps gameplay, 8K output, HDR, and fast game loading. Following recent price adjustments, the disc edition is now NPR 80,000 (previously NPR 105,000), and the digital edition is NPR 73,500 (previously NPR 90,000).

PlayStation 4

Sony officially discontinued the PS4 globally, including in Nepal, with the launch of the PS5. Authorized retailers no longer stock new PS4 units. However, second-hand units can sometimes be found on platforms such as Facebook Marketplace or HamroBazar, with prices ranging from NPR 22,000 to NPR 35,000. While many PS4 games run on PS5 via backward compatibility, PS5 exclusives require the newer hardware. The PS4 line included three models: the standard PS4, the slimmer PS4 Slim, and the more powerful PS4 Pro.
