Subisu Launches 400Gbps Single-Fiber Network Across Nepal
Subisu Cablenet, a major internet service provider in Nepal, has completed the deployment of a 400Gbps single-optical fiber channel. This expansion, carried out together with Nokia, extends Subisu’s high-speed fiber solution from the east to the west of the country.
Key Benefits of the New Fiber Solution
The new fiber infrastructure is designed to address the increasing demand for fast, high-quality internet and intranet services. It marks a significant enhancement to Subisu’s broadband offerings, promising improved performance for both business and retail customers. With this upgrade, users can expect reliable, high-speed connectivity suitable for demanding applications.
Collaboration with Nokia
Subisu has implemented Nokia’s 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) platform, which includes Photonic Service Engine (PSE) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. This scalable switch supports rapid service deployment, reduces total cost of ownership, and prolongs network life cycles. The 1830 PSE transforms standard WDM into a flexible transport layer, offering managed agile photonics, multilayer switching, network intelligence, and advanced services.
According to Vinay Mohan Saud, CEO of Subisu, “We have partnered with Nokia for many years, and their industry-leading products and solutions are crucial in delivering high-speed, high-quality broadband services to our customers. Nokia is the exclusive vendor for this vital project, and their solutions have enabled us to offer an exceptional level of experience and service.” Nokia’s 400Gbps single-fiber solution significantly increases fiber capacity while lowering operational costs, allowing Subisu to easily provide multi-terabit capacity over a single fiber.
Impact on Nepal’s Internet Market
The introduction of CG Net has already made Nepal’s internet market more competitive than ever. Subisu’s investment in advanced fiber technology is expected to further accelerate growth in the ISP sector at an unprecedented pace. While many users focus primarily on bandwidth, several other factors influence overall internet quality. Subisu’s new fiber solution is poised to improve the general standard of internet performance across the board.
