Tecno Pova Slim 5G Debuts With Ultra-Thin Design And Advanced Connectivity

Tecno has launched the Pova Slim 5G, joining its ultra-thin smartphone lineup that already includes the Spark Slim. This model focuses on adding 5G capabilities while maintaining an exceptionally slim 5.95mm thickness and a weight of 156 grams, matching the Spark Slim in dimensions but differing in connectivity and processor.

The Pova Slim 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, built on a 6nm process, which enables 5G support—a notable upgrade from the Helio G200 used in the Spark Slim. It runs Android 15 with Tecno's HiOS 15 and offers 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Engineering challenges remain significant for such thin devices. The phone includes a 0.45mm USB Type-C port, a 0.3mm vapor chamber for heat dissipation, and a 5,160mAh battery that is only 4.04mm thick. It also uses Honeycomb Space Stacking Technology and an aerospace-grade fiberglass back cover measuring a mere 0.36mm.

Display specifications are identical to the Spark Slim, featuring a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 4,500nits peak brightness. Build options include stainless steel or ceramic backs, with the ceramic version recommended to minimize fingerprint smudging.

Camera capabilities are more basic compared to the Spark Slim, with a dual 50MP rear setup that lacks the Spark Slim’s distinctive Mood Light LED bar. The front camera is a 13MP sensor. The large 5,160mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging, along with IP64 water and dust resistance—a practical rating though not fully waterproof.

As both models are still considered concept devices, exact pricing remains speculative. However, the Pova Slim 5G is expected to carry a slightly higher price tag than the Spark Slim in Nepal when it becomes available, primarily due to the added 5G functionality.
