Vivo Introduces Compact Flagship S50 Pro Mini with Powerful Specs

Vivo has introduced the S50 Pro Mini as a compact yet powerful addition to its flagship lineup. Despite its smaller form factor, this device packs impressive specifications that set it apart from the standard S50 model. The Pro Mini combines cutting-edge technology with a portable design, making it an attractive option for users who want high performance in a manageable package.

The phone measures just 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 192 grams, featuring a flat rear glass panel with an aerospace-grade metal frame. It achieves both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, ensuring durability in various conditions. The display is a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a sharp 1.5K resolution (2,640 × 1,216 pixels), a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and impressive peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is embedded in the screen for secure access.

Under the hood, the Pro Mini utilizes Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the regular S50. This performance boost is supported by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and options for up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device also includes WiFi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, stereo dual speakers, and an X-axis linear motor for enhanced haptic feedback. It runs on Android 16 with Vivo's OriginOS 6 interface.

Both the Pro Mini and the standard S50 share the same substantial 6,500 mAh battery, but the Pro Mini distinguishes itself with support for 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging, whereas the regular model only offers wired charging options.

Camera capabilities remain strong across both models, with the Pro Mini featuring a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front camera is a 50MP shooter, suitable for high-quality selfies and video calls.

In terms of availability, the S50 Pro Mini has launched in China with starting prices of CNY 3,699. For the Nepali market, the expected price begins at NPR 86,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with higher configurations priced accordingly.
