Vivo TWS 5 Series Wireless Earbuds Launched

Vivo has recently announced the TWS 5 series of affordable true wireless earbuds in China, alongside the X300 smartphone series, Watch GT 2, and Pad 5e. Despite being budget models, the TWS 5 series packs notable features such as up to 60dB active noise cancellation and a Hi-Fi variant supporting lossless audio.

Design and Build

The TWS 5 series features compact earbuds measuring 22.1 × 23.6 × 30.3 mm, each weighing just 4.8 grams, ensuring comfort for extended use. The charging case measures 60 × 46 × 23.8 mm and totals 41 grams. Both models carry an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and splashes. The standard version is available in Simple White, Pure Black, and Smokey Purple, while the Hi-Fi version comes in Deep Sea Blue and White.

Audio Performance and Noise Cancellation

Equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers and a second-generation ceramic tungsten diaphragm, the TWS 5 series delivers rich audio. The standard model supports AAC, SBC, LC3, and LDAC codecs, whereas the Hi-Fi version adds LHDC 5.0, enabling CD-quality 16-bit / 48 kHz playback. Both models feature DeepX 4.0 stereo sound, adaptive and customizable EQ, and spatial audio capabilities.

A standout feature is the active noise cancellation, which utilizes a 4-mic setup to provide up to 60dB of noise reduction, supported by 5,500Hz ultra-wideband technology. Performance may vary based on ear shape and fit. Three of the four microphones also handle AI-powered noise reduction during phone calls.

Connectivity and Controls

The earbuds connect via Bluetooth 5.4 and can link to up to three devices simultaneously. They feature touch controls for managing music playback, calls, and AI functions. Integration with BlueOS enables pop-up themes, remote photography, AI broadcasting, voice control, and headphone search capabilities.

Battery Life and Charging

Users can enjoy up to 6 hours of playtime with ANC enabled and 12 hours without ANC. The charging case extends total playtime to 24 hours with ANC and 48 hours without ANC. The earbuds support USB-C charging, reaching a full charge in approximately 2.5 hours.

Additional Features

The TWS 5 series supports 42ms low-latency gaming and includes AI-driven smart features such as real-time translation in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, and Thai. Adaptive EQ adjusts sound quality based on individual hearing profiles.
