Vivo Introduces Y50i With Slower Charging in Its Budget Lineup

Vivo has added another model to its Y50 series with the launch of the Y50i. This latest addition shares almost identical specifications with the existing Y50 5G and Y50m, except for its charging speed. The Y50i retains the same large 6,000 mAh battery found in its siblings but slows down charging to 15W, compared to the 44W capabilities of the Y50 5G and Y50m. Despite this downgrade, Vivo still bundles a 44W charger in the box.

In terms of design, the Y50i sports a sleek appearance with a notification light ring on the back and meets SGS five-star drop certification for durability. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and comes in three color options: Diamond Black, Azure, and Platinum.

The display measures 6.74 inches with HD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, backed by a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and DC dimming support. Under the hood, the device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. It boots OriginOS 5 based on Android 15.

For photography, the Y50i includes a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both capable of recording Full HD videos. Connectivity options include dual SIM 5G support, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, an IR blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Currently, the Y50i is only available in China for CNY 1,499, roughly USD 210 or INR 18,600, for the single 6GB/128GB configuration. While there is no official word on a Nepal launch, if it does arrive, expectations point to a price tag around NPR 32,999.
