NTC Introduces WOW Time, a New IPTV Option for Nepali Viewers

Nepali telecom giant NTC has stepped into the IPTV arena with the launch of its WOW Time app, positioning itself as a competitor to existing services like NET-TV. The app is currently exclusive to NTC GSM and CDMA customers and can be downloaded on both iOS and Android platforms.

Users simply need to install the app, enter their NTC phone number, and input a validation code received via SMS to begin streaming. The service is completely free for the first month, extending through the Dashain festival period, after which live TV data packs will be required for continued access.

At launch, WOW Time provides access to more than 130 carefully selected channels, though viewers will notice the absence of several key Star Sports channels in the sports lineup. The app’s interface closely mirrors that of NET-TV, featuring dedicated sections for live TV, videos, and movies. Notably, the video and movie content is sourced directly from YouTube, and the platform also supports live radio streaming.

While WOW Time does not currently offer any advantages over NET-TV, the introduction of another major player in the market is expected to drive improvements across IPTV services in Nepal. The app clearly states that its free trial period ends after Dashain, and future subscription details for the full version remain to be seen.
