Xiaomi has launched the Buds 6, the latest addition to its line of semi-in-ear wireless earbuds, building on the foundation set by last year’s Buds 5. The new model brings several refinements to both hardware and software, aimed at improving user experience and audio performance.

The Buds 6 retain their semi-in-ear form factor but feature a redesigned shape, with a slimmer ear stem joint, a thinner sound outlet, and a slightly larger contact area for better fit and comfort. Each bud weighs 4.4 grams, a marginal increase over the Buds 5, though the difference is minimal. The earbuds are offered in four color options: Moon Shadow Black, Pearl White, Nebula Purple, and Titanium Gold.

On the audio front, Xiaomi has upgraded the driver setup from a dual-magnet to a tri-magnetic system, paired with a 24K gold-plated diaphragm. While driver size remains unchanged, the emphasis this year is on enhancing the driver structure. The Buds 6 continue to support lossless wireless audio and spatial audio, with a transmission rate of up to 2.1 Mbps, and retain Harman tuning. A new preset called “HaLiang Classic” has also been introduced.

Noise control has been improved with a triple-microphone setup for calls, featuring AI-based noise reduction described as “comfort-focused noise cancellation.” The AI capabilities of the Buds 6 extend beyond noise reduction; they now include face-to-face translation and simultaneous interpretation for up to 20 people, alongside independent recording and real-time transcription.

Connectivity enhancements include Apple Find My support, a feature absent in the Buds 5, alongside Xiaomi’s own device-finding system that works regardless of distance. The earbuds also maintain smart search, fast device finding, and cross-device support. Battery life is rated at up to 6 hours on the earbuds alone and up to 35 hours with the charging case.

Key specifications include a semi-in-ear design, IP54 dust and water resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, adaptive ANC, and 3-mic AI call noise reduction with 12 m/s wind resistance. The Buds 6 are currently available in China for CNY 699 and are expected to launch in Nepal at a starting price of NPR 18,999.
