Xiaomi has recently launched the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro in China, celebrating a decade of leadership in the nation’s online air purifier market. Since its first model debuted in December 2014, Xiaomi has shipped over 25 million units. The new 6 Pro stands out with its dual-core, dual-filter system specifically engineered to address formaldehyde in freshly renovated spaces.

The purifier employs a 13-layer filtration arrangement. It begins with a pre-filter for dust and hair, incorporates antibacterial and antiviral layers, utilizes a nano-grade particulate filter, applies amino-reaction technology for formaldehyde decomposition, and concludes with activated carbon filters to eliminate VOCs and odors.

Performance-wise, the 6 Pro drives dual fan blades with a single motor and a tilted volute duct design. It achieves a particulate CADR of 1461 m³/h and a formaldehyde CADR of 1000 m³/h, enabling the device to refresh the air in a typical room within approximately 1.5 minutes in lab conditions. These CADR values position the 6 Pro above many mid-range competitors, especially given the challenge of chemically decomposing gaseous formaldehyde.

Equipped with six sensors, the unit monitors PM1, PM2.5, dust particles, formaldehyde, temperature, and humidity. An LCD screen on the front displays real-time data, with an option to turn off the light for nighttime use. Operating noise drops to just 32 dB(A) in sleep mode.

The 6 Pro integrates Xiaomi’s HyperOS and the Mi Home app, allowing remote control, scheduling, and live air quality tracking. It also supports voice commands through Xiaomi’s Xiao Ai assistant. Filter life expectancy ranges from 8 to 14 months, contingent on usage patterns and local air quality.

Currently priced at CNY 2,399 in China and open for pre-order, the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Pro is expected to arrive in Nepal with a starting price of around NPR 49,000.
