HMD has officially launched the Crest and Crest Max smartphones in Nepal, expanding its presence in the local market. Both devices share many similarities but differ in key specs such as camera setup and memory configuration.

The Crest and Crest Max boast a consistent design language, featuring flat edges, curved screens, and an IP52 dust and water resistance rating. The base model includes an LED flashlight beside the dual-camera setup, while the Max variant adds a third camera and an additional flashlight. Each phone is available in three color options: the Crest comes in Midnight Blue, Royal Pink, and Lush Lilac, whereas the Crest Max is offered in Aqua Green, Deep Purple, and Royal Pink.

Both models pack a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. A standout feature of HMD devices is their repairability, and these models continue that tradition, allowing users to easily replace batteries, charging ports, and even the entire display at home.

Under the hood, both phones are powered by the UNISOC T760 chipset, built on a 6nm process with eight cores and a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz. While HMD claims a benchmark score above 510,000, independent tests suggest a lower figure, indicating that the score may have been achieved using an older benchmark version. Despite this, the processor provides reliable performance for daily tasks.

Memory and storage options differ between the two models. The HMD Crest offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with support for virtual memory extension and a microSD card for extra space. The Crest Max steps up with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, also supporting expansion via a microSD card. Both phones ship with Android 14 and are guaranteed to receive software updates for the next two years.

Camera capabilities set the two models apart. The Crest features a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while the Crest Max adds a third camera for a triple-lens arrangement, including a 64MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Both phones include a 50MP front camera, enabling hands-free selfie snapshots through gesture controls.

A robust 5000mAh battery powers both devices, supporting 33W fast charging. Thanks to the efficient UNISOC processor, the phones are fully 5G-compatible, alongside WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. While they include dual microphones, stereo speakers are absent.

The HMD Crest is priced at NPR 19,999 for the single 6GB + 128GB configuration, and the Crest Max costs NPR 23,999 for its 8GB + 256GB variant. Both models are now available across authorized HMD retail channels in Nepal.
