Honor has introduced the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design in China, expanding its Magic 8 series alongside the Magic 8 Pro Air. This model builds on Honor's collaboration with Porsche Design, offering a refined aesthetic inspired by Porsche supercars. The phone features a durable nano-ceramic rear panel with a Mohs hardness of 8.5, making it more scratch-resistant and about 10% lighter than its predecessor. The camera module design echoes Porsche headlights, giving the device a bold, sporty appearance.
On the display side, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design sports a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It achieves an impressive peak HDR brightness of up to 6,000 nits, supports Dolby Vision for rich visuals, and includes 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to minimize eye strain. The display is protected by Giant Rhino Glass.
The camera system includes a versatile setup with a 50MP main sensor (f/1.6, OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide lens (122° field of view), and a standout 200MP telephoto sensor (f/2.6, OIS) offering a 3.7x optical zoom. This telephoto lens is the first to earn a CIPA 6.5 stabilization rating and supports an external 200mm Nox telephoto lens for extended shooting range. For selfies, the device offers a 50MP front camera and a 3D depth sensor enabling Face Unlock.
Under the hood, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is driven by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. This processor features 3rd Gen Oryon CPU cores with prime speeds up to 4.65GHz, delivering notable performance and efficiency improvements of 20-23% over previous generations. The phone can be configured with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
A large 7,200mAh battery fuels the device, supporting fast 120W SuperCharge wired charging and 80W wireless charging for quick top-ups. Additional features include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC.
In China, the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is offered in two configurations: a base model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage priced at CNY 7,999, and a higher-end version with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage priced at CNY 8,999. Should it launch in Nepal, the base variant is expected to carry a price tag of approximately NPR 189,999, with the top model anticipated around NPR 214,999.
