HTC Unveils Its New Flagship Smartphone, the HTC One M8

HTC has officially introduced its newest flagship device, the HTC One M8, at simultaneous events in London and New York on March 25, 2014. This model represents a significant milestone as it is the first HTC smartphone to incorporate dual rear cameras.

The HTC One M8 features a 5.0-inch Full HD 1080p display, driven by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. It runs on Android 4.4, enhanced with HTC Sense 6 and the BlinkFeed interface. The device offers 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, paired with 2GB of RAM, and supports expansion via microSD cards up to 128GB.

A standout feature is its dual-camera setup. The primary camera is an HTC UltraPixel unit with a BSI sensor, measuring 2.0 micrometers per pixel and a 1/3 inch sensor size, paired with an f/2.0, 28mm lens and HTC ImageChip 2 for improved image processing. It also includes a secondary camera dedicated to capturing depth information, alongside a 5MP front camera capable of HDR and 1080p video recording.

The phone is powered by a 2600 mAh Li-polymer battery, offering up to 20 hours of talk time and approximately 496 hours on standby over 3G networks. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, DLNA, and a micro-USB 2.0 port supporting MHL for HDMI output. It also features HTC BoomSound with dual frontal stereo speakers and amplifiers.

In terms of availability, the HTC One M8 is anticipated to reach the Nepalese market as early as May 2014, with an estimated retail price ranging from NPR 70,000 to NPR 80,000.
