Huawei Debuts Watch 4 Series with Groundbreaking Health Feature

Huawei has announced the Watch 4 series, marking a major step forward in wearable technology with the introduction of the world’s first non-invasive blood sugar risk assessment function in a smartwatch. The series includes two models: the Huawei Watch 4 and the Huawei Watch 4 Pro.

Unlike traditional methods that require blood sampling, Huawei’s new feature evaluates blood sugar risk levels without invasive procedures. Currently, this capability is limited to participants in a joint research program between Huawei and a third-party medical institution in China. The system is designed for individuals with Type 2 diabetes and analyzes multiple health indicators, such as heart rate and pulse wave data, to provide insights into blood sugar trends and recommend lifestyle adjustments.

The assessment categorizes users into different risk levels, helping them understand potential connections to diet or short-term fluctuations. Users can re-run evaluations at any time to monitor changes over periods.

Visually, the Watch 4 Pro boasts a 48mm titanium case with a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass, while the Watch 4 sports a slightly smaller 46mm stainless steel body. Both models combine luxury materials with cutting-edge technology, setting a new benchmark in the smartwatch market.

Pricing begins at CNY 2,699, and the series launched in China on May 18, with European availability expected in June. The announcement forms part of a broader Huawei event showcasing new tablets, laptops, and smart TVs, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation across consumer electronics.
