Motorola Moto G60 Review: A Solid Stock Android Experience With Room for Improvement

The Motorola Moto G60 positions itself as a reliable mid-range device for users who value a pure Android experience. With a 120Hz display, a large battery, and solid performance, it has strengths, but key weaknesses prevent it from reaching its full potential.

Design and build present a significant hurdle. At 169.6 x 75.9 x 9.8 mm and 225 grams, the phone feels bulky and heavy, especially compared to slimmer alternatives. Its all-plastic construction with a glossy finish attracts fingerprints easily and lacks the premium feel of glass-backed competitors. While the water-repellent design is a plus, the large form factor may deter those used to compact phones.

The display offers a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. While adequate for media consumption with its wide 20.5:9 aspect ratio, it cannot match the vibrant contrast and deep blacks of AMOLED alternatives. Outdoor visibility suffers under direct sunlight, and Netflix HDR playback remains unsupported despite Widevine L1 certification.

Performance is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Day-to-day tasks and multitasking are handled smoothly, outperforming some rivals in app retention. Motorola's My UX interface remains bloat-free and enjoyable, with added features like Peek Display and Acoustic Light enhancing the experience.

The camera setup includes a 108MP main sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth lens. While capable in normal lighting, the system suffers from software instability, particularly when attempting 108MP photos or 1080p/60fps video. Image quality often shows over-sharpening, and low-light performance falls short of competitors.

Battery life is a major highlight, with the 6000mAh cell delivering over ten hours of screen-on time under moderate use, and eight hours with gaming. However, charging remains slow at 20W, taking over two hours to reach full capacity.

Audio comes through a single bottom-firing mono speaker, which lacks the richness and depth of stereo setups found on rivals. Call quality remains decent, and haptic feedback is notably strong.

Ultimately, the Moto G60 offers a strong stock Android experience and excellent endurance, but its bulky design, LCD display, and slow charging hold it back from being a true contender in the competitive mid-range space.
