Nokia 6 Experiences Surge in Demand

The revival of Nokia by HMD Global has sparked renewed enthusiasm among consumers. Following a successful first flash sale in China where the Nokia 6 sold out in under a minute, the company scheduled a second sale on January 26th. However, demand exceeded expectations, with over 1.4 million people registering for the event, putting the device on track to run out of stock once again.

This level of interest not only highlights the strong comeback of Nokia but also sends a warning to competing smartphone brands. The Nokia 6 offers a compelling package with a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD display that boasts a 403 PPI pixel density and is protected by Corning Glass 3. It runs on Android Nougat (version 7.0) powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, an octa-core chip clocked at 1.4 GHz, paired with an Adreno 505 GPU for graphics.

Memory-wise, the phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via SD card up to 256GB. The camera setup includes a 16MP primary lens and an 8MP secondary lens, while a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery keeps the device running. Additional features such as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors, and fast charging technology enhance the overall experience.

Currently priced at 1,699 Yuan (approximately $247) in China, the Nokia 6 is exclusive to the Chinese market for now. However, with such strong initial reception, a global rollout seems likely in the near future. Furthermore, HMD Global is preparing to unveil a new Nokia device at MWC next month, which is expected to be available worldwide.
