Nokia 8 Expected to Arrive with Dual Camera and Flagship Features

Following its partnership with HMD Global after ending its collaboration with Microsoft, Nokia has released several mid-range Android devices, including the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. These models appear to be testing the waters for the brand's comeback. Now, Nokia seems ready to move beyond the mid-range segment with its first Android flagship, the Nokia 8, according to recent leaks.

Unofficial images of the Nokia 8 have surfaced, revealing a vertical dual-camera arrangement with visible Zeiss branding, suggesting the use of Carl Zeiss optics. The leaked images also indicate that the phone will feature thick bezels at the top and bottom, a design choice that contrasts with current trends toward thinner bezels. The device is rumored to launch on July 31 at a price of approximately €600.

Reported specifications for the Nokia 8 include a 5.3-inch display with QHD resolution, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. The phone is said to offer two RAM options: 4GB or 6GB, paired with a 13MP Zeiss dual-camera setup that includes laser autofocus. It will reportedly run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with an interface close to stock Android.

With major competitors like Samsung and LG focusing on edge-to-edge designs, the Nokia 8's thicker bezels may face scrutiny. As the launch of the iPhone 8 approaches, it remains to be seen whether the Nokia 8 can capture attention and rekindle interest in the Nokia brand within the smartphone market.
