Nokia Launches C21 Plus Entry-Level Smartphone in Nepal

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia smartphones, has officially launched the Nokia C21 Plus in Nepal, positioning it as a budget-friendly option for users seeking reliable performance without breaking the bank. This device serves as an upgrade to the previous C20 Plus model, bringing improvements in design, battery life, and overall durability.

The Nokia C21 Plus features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio, providing a clear and expansive viewing area for everyday tasks such as browsing, media playback, and app usage. Constructed with a metal frame and toughened glass on the front, the phone is built to withstand minor bumps and scratches, while the IP52 rating offers basic protection against dust and water splashes.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A chipset, built on a 28nm process and featuring eight Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz, paired with a PowerVR GE8322 GPU for graphics rendering. Memory configurations include options for 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, with the ability to expand storage further through a microSD card.

The C21 Plus runs on Android 11 Go edition, optimized for entry-level devices to ensure smooth operation even with limited hardware resources. Nokia has committed to providing two years of security updates, although details regarding major operating system upgrades remain unspecified.

In the camera department, the C21 Plus boasts a dual-camera setup comprising a 13MP primary lens accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor, alongside an LED flash for improved low-light photography. For selfies, the device features a 5MP front camera positioned within a teardrop notch.

Battery life is a standout feature, with the C21 Plus offering two variants: one equipped with a 5050mAh battery and the other with a 4000mAh cell. Both versions support 10W charging via a micro-USB port, a somewhat outdated method but functional for the target market segment. Security features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added protection.

Currently, the Nokia C21 Plus is available in Nepal for NPR 16,499 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, exclusively through authorized Nokia retailers. The standard C21 model has yet to be released in the local market.
