OPPO Reno15 Debuts in China With 200MP Camera and 6200mAh Battery

OPPO has officially launched the Reno15 in China, marking the latest evolution of its popular Reno series. The Reno15 brings notable upgrades, particularly in its camera system and display technology, while maintaining a compact and refined design.

The Reno15 features a 6.32-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels. This display offers a peak brightness of up to 3600 nits, a significant improvement over its predecessor, and includes a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 3840Hz PWM dimming for smoother performance and reduced eye strain. The phone is protected by OPPO's Crystal Shield Glass and boasts ultra-narrow bezels measuring just 1.15mm.

In terms of design, the Reno15 adopts a premium build with cold-carved glass and a starlight mirror structure. It comes in three color options: Starlight, Aurora Blue, and Canelé Brown. The Starlight variant features a unique holographic lithography design with a bow pattern that shimmers when rotated. The device measures 7.99mm thick for the Brown and Starlight models, while the Aurora Blue version is slightly thicker at 8.13mm. Weights range from 187g to 188g depending on the color.

Under the hood, the Reno15 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processor, an upgrade from the Dimensity 8350 used in the Reno14. Built on a 4nm process, this octa-core chipset offers a maximum clock speed of 3.25GHz and is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Android 16 with OPPO's ColorOS 16 interface and includes the Nano Ice Crystal Heat Dissipation system for thermal management.

The camera system represents a major leap for the Reno series. The Reno15 boasts a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.56" sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS), a substantial upgrade from the Reno14's 50MP main camera. The ultra-wide camera has also been upgraded to 50MP with a 112° field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The periscope telephoto camera remains at 50MP with 3.5x optical zoom but now includes OIS and an f/2.8 aperture for improved stabilization. All rear cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps, and the front camera has been upgraded to 50MP with f/2.0 aperture and 4K 60fps video recording capability.

The Reno15 houses a 6200mAh battery, representing a modest 200mAh increase over the Reno14's 6000mAh cell. Despite this, the device supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, though wireless charging is reserved for the Pro version. Additional features include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers (an improvement over the Reno14's basic speakers), USB Type-C audio support, and an infrared sensor.

Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.4. The phone also supports various sensors such as Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

The OPPO Reno15 has been launched in China with the following pricing: the base 12GB + 256GB variant starts at CNY 2999, with higher configurations reaching up to CNY 3999 for the 16GB + 1TB model. When the device becomes available in Nepal, pricing is expected to start at NPR 67,000 for the base model.
