Realme Neo8 Debuts in China With Flagship Power and Massive Battery

Realme has introduced the Neo8, its most powerful Neo-series device to date, in China. The phone targets semi-flagship buyers with premium specifications and a long-lasting battery.

The Neo8 sports a 6.78-inch Samsung Sky Screen AMOLED panel, delivering a smooth 165Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 6500 nits. Protection comes from Crystal Armor Glass, and an ultrasonic 3D in-display fingerprint sensor adds security. The rear features a transparent RGB lighting panel and a durable metal frame, with the device holding IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with options of 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and storage choices up to a massive 1TB UFS 4.1. Realme employs a high-airflow cooling system and its GT Performance Engine to maintain steady frame rates, with support for 165Hz gaming in over 30 titles and a special PC Handheld Mode.

Camera capabilities include a 50MP Sony IMX896 main sensor with optical image stabilization, alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The device houses an enormous 8000mAh battery, supporting fast charging at 80W along with PD, QC, and bypass charging standards.

Running on realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, the Neo8 also includes features such as WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared remote, stereo speakers, and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback.

Currently available in China, the Neo8 starts at CNY 2399 for the 12GB + 256GB version. While there has been no official confirmation of a Nepal launch yet, local pricing expectations begin at around NPR 55,000 if the device arrives in the market soon.
