Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: A Solid Mid-Range Contender with Room for Improvement

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A32 as part of its mid-range lineup, featuring an appealing design, capable cameras, and a 90Hz AMOLED display. However, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, which impacts overall performance and prevents the smooth refresh rate from shining fully.

The Galaxy A32 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits, offering vibrant colors and smooth scrolling for casual use. Despite visible bezels, especially at the bottom, the screen quality itself is excellent for the price.

In terms of performance, the phone is equipped with the Helio G80 processor, paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card. While the device handles everyday tasks adequately, it tends to lag when switching between apps or browsing, and gaming can lead to noticeable heating and occasional stuttering in more demanding titles like PUBG Mobile.

The camera department sees a quad-setup at the back, led by a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and two 5MP sensors for macro and depth effects. The front features a 20MP selfie camera. In well-lit conditions, the A32 produces vibrant and detailed images, though pixel-binning reduces clarity in default shots. Night photography benefits from a dedicated night mode but still lacks fine detail.

Audio comes through a single loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. While call quality is decent, the speaker lacks the loudness and clarity of stereo setups found in competitors. The phone also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock for security.

Battery life is supported by a sizable 5000mAh cell, delivering up to a day and a half of moderate use. However, charging is slow, with the included 15W adapter taking around two and a half hours to reach a full charge.

Priced at NPR 31,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant, the Galaxy A32 faces strong competition from devices like the Redmi Note 10 series, which offer comparable or better specifications at a lower cost. While the A32’s design and display are strong points, its performance limitations and slow charging hold it back from being a top recommendation in the mid-range segment.
