Xiaomi Introduces Miband 2 with OLED Display for Enhanced Fitness Tracking

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Miband 2, the successor to its original Miband fitness tracker. The new model sports a 0.4-inch OLED display that shows time, steps taken, distance traveled in kilometers, heart rate, calories burned, and other customizable data. Users can view information by lifting their wrist or pressing the capacitive button below the screen.

One standout feature of the Miband 2 is its scratch-resistant and water-resistant design, certified to IP67 standards. The display delivers vivid, bright colors with excellent sunlight readability. Like its predecessor, the device tracks sleep patterns, while the added heart rate sensor and improved ADI accelerometer enhance fitness monitoring.

Thanks to its power-efficient OLED panel and a sizable 70 mAh battery, the Miband 2 lasts up to 20 days on a single charge, far outlasting many competitors. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 for pairing with both Android and iOS devices. The tracker also includes an office activity monitor that alerts users when they have been stationary for too long, encouraging movement breaks.

The Miband 2 will be offered in black, blue, green, and orange colors. It goes on sale in China on June 7th, though international buyers can currently purchase it from Gearbest for $40, slightly above the global price of $23. No official release timeline has been announced for markets outside China.
